Gustav Seeland GmbH was commissioned by customers STRABAG and SWARCO to install the longest traffic sign bridge over the largest road bridge in the country.
Using two 250-ton mobile cranes from Grove Cranes I The Manitowoc Company, Seeland safely lifted the 43.5-meter-long, 40-ton sign bridge into place in a precise tandem lift. Ten square meters of load distribution mats were also used, as the equipment had to be positioned exclusively on pre-determined bolts and the total weight of 125 tons including the load could not be exceeded. Did you know? The K20 Elbmarsch elevated highway (BAB 7 Hamburg) measures an impressive 4,258 meters in total length – a true feat of engineering over the Elbe River.
