Heavy transport of a Komatsu PC 2000 excavator in a Ghanaian gold mine

The transport carried out by Jonmoore International Ltd involved a Komatsu PC 2000 excavator weighing 200,000 kilograms, which was moved over a distance of 34 kilometers within a gold mine in Ghana.A Scania R580 V8 was used as the front 250-ton tractor unit, a modular 15-axle Scheuerle K25 trailer with an unladen weight of 52,500 kilograms, and a MAN TGA 41.660 V10 as the rear 250-ton tractor unit. This combination enabled the large excavator to be transported safely and efficiently through the challenging mine terrain.
