SILVASTI Implements an Alternative Route

SILVASTI was recently commissioned to transport two transformers weighing just under 90 metric tons from Finland to Austria. The originally planned route via Antwerp and by inland waterway ship along the Rhine and Danube had to be abandoned due to low water levels.

As an alternative, after being loaded at the Finnish seaport, the transformers were transported by coastal motor vessel to Slovenia, where they arrived last week. From there, they will continue through Slovenia and Croatia to Austria and on to the construction site. The operation required close coordination with all partners involved.
