Teamwork from Mannheim to Norway

Teamwork from Mannheim to Norway
Together with our partner Colossus Logistics GmbH & Co. KG, we, BIGMOVE Projekt GmbH, realized a transport for a construction project in Norway. The load consisted of a water basin in several individual parts.
With load dimensions of 7.06 x 3.00 x 3.00 m, this was not an unusual load in itself, but with a total distance of 1,530 kilometers through sometimes challenging terrain and changing weather conditions, this transport was more than just routine.
Spring in Scandinavia brings its own challenges. In April, the weather can vary greatly along the route: While spring-like temperatures already prevail in southern Germany, snowfall, icy conditions and sub-zero temperatures are still not uncommon in the Norwegian mountains.
In many Scandinavian regions, studded tires are still permitted until May. Snow chains are also compulsory - even for trailers. In remote areas, petrol stations and rest areas are often few and far between. It is therefore particularly important that both drivers and vehicles are as well prepared as possible for these conditions.
Our drivers were well equipped for such situations. Warm clothing, sufficient food, water and reliable technology were part of the basic equipment. Especially when driving through remote regions at night, there must be no unforeseen incidents. Successful heavy goods transportation requires reliable partners, experienced drivers and well thought-out planning - especially in difficult weather and route conditions.
